Overview & Reviews
After last year's major refresh, Lexus chose to keep changes simple this year. The lone change is to the optional 18-inch alloy wheels, which are now available as a stand-alone extra.
- Superb ride quality, impressive array of standard and optional luxury features, premium interior materials, Lexus reliability, top-notch dealer service.
- Not as athletic as some competitors, adding options raises the price to unLexus-like levels.

Best Value for Your Dollar - 2005 Lexus LS 430
By Steve Stanczak - December 26 - 4:30 amHaving previously owned a number of high-end Euro sedans, most recently a 2000 BMW 750iL, I was not expecting to be as impressed with the LS as I was, especially with its 0-60 sprint. The standard amenities are more than competitive with the Euros. All available options are on par with the competition. I would ideally like to see a longer wheelbase on this car. While the LS does not provide the driving excitement that makes me create errands just to leave the house, it does provide what I feel is the most polished ride I have experienced. This would be THE car to take on an extended trip. Bottom line, I dont wish I had an S-Class, A8, nor a 7-Series, all of which were test driven.

A luxury bargain - 2005 Lexus LS 430
By Ian Schmidt - November 2 - 4:20 amFor those of us who dont define ourselves by the hood ornament on our car, the LS 430 is both a fantastic solidly-built car and a great deal. It drives much smaller than it is, its got great power when you "drop the hammer", the Mark Levinson stereo puts many high-dollar home systems to shame, and its truly comfortable for 5 adults. Plus its got enough trunk room to make you wonder why people buy SUVs, and the gas mileage is better than youd expect for a car of this size.

My Lexus - 2005 Lexus LS 430
By pboedeker - July 24 - 8:36 pmMy 2004 LS430 is a real delight to drive. The optional Smart Access is a wonderful idea. I utilize the Parking Assistant and find the multiple seat positions quite comfortable on long rides. The real beauty of this car is in the handling. Until you have driven a 430 you just cant understand... its as smooth as warm butter.

lexus, the best! - 2005 Lexus LS 430
By david h. sager - May 30 - 10:43 amThis is the first non-American car I have personally owned. It is flawless in every respect. I have the touring suspension and it is great for super handling and just a ball to drive. The steering response, the engine performance, and the elegant design of the interior is unbelievable. This car leads, does not follow.

no need to ask - 2005 Lexus LS 430
By bill h. - March 1 - 2:20 pmIm old enough not to have to put up with the stiff ride of other cars along with the rattles, difficulty of entry, loud road noise & noisy engines that idle rough. LS 430 does none of this.

Best sedan Ive ever owned - 2005 Lexus LS 430
By Bruce Saxe - August 12 - 9:23 amThis is the finest automobile Ive ever owned. The quality of build, ride, creature comforts, style and amenities are second to none. Even better is the reliability of Lexus built into this vehicle. Yes this is expensive, but compared to the competition, this car is a bargain.

Best Car - 2005 Lexus LS 430
By Paul Rapaport - August 7 - 1:06 amThis automobile rides like a dream and on the highway, it is smooth and quiet. Recently, I averaged 25 + mpg on a 1200 mile trip. I have owned 3 Lexus autos and this is the best and all of them were extremely reliable.

Great Ride ! - 2005 Lexus LS 430
By Chief 1 - April 12 - 4:33 amExcellent workmanship. Best engine/transmission function I have experienced. It is so smooth and quiet I had to learn to watch the tac. to see if it is running. The sixth gear allows it to run at 80mph at just 2100 rpm. When asked, the 4000 lbs. will do 0 to sixty in under 6 sec. Almost all comforts have been provided such as air 10 air bags, 10 way heated/cooled seats, dim/tilt down mirrors. We bought it as a road car and while it isnt a "sport feel" drive, it provides a strong performance and safe feel with adaquate road comfort. If it continues to satisfy I will buy this brand car again.
